The Farm StandingFord LLC - A Place We Grow

'The Farm' at StandingFord is a think tank and test plot for sustainable agriculture and the development of systems for the reduction of food waste. Through its projects and initiatives, as it grows and we grow, its goals are to also cultivate hope by "saving the discarded and healing life" by "helping farms, help the world". (Visit Growers for Grace.)

StandingFord sits in a small carve-out of my family’s greater farm. I am a wife, mother, artist, daughter of a farmer, sister and entrepreneur. The Farm StandingFord is the place I retreat, where my heart can be quiet. It is a place I can reflect and seek God’s will, even as I work to meet its needs physically. This reclusive parcel helps cultivate a better understanding of how I may actively honor my family's life-long commitment to agriculture with the well-rooted reverence for the land that will always stir my soul.

The name, StandingFord, I conceived as a reminder to have courage, to wade through and cross over, to commit to one's original design of a God-breathed purpose. I have learned at this end of life, connecting in faith with one’s true self is the pivotal version God needs to get His work in Truth, accomplished for His Kingdom. StandingFord began by simply putting the two words together by direct definition. I formed them into a personal mission statement committing to take a stand (Standing) with courage, to be true to the blessings of our spiritual gifts, to stay committed to this, and with strength cross over the waters (Ford).

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.”   Isaiah 43:2-3b

By being exactly who God beautifully created us, with gifts as unique as our thumbprints, let us faithfully see His vision. Our gifts are His sparkling signature, illuminating that He knows each of us very personally and loves us very, very dearly.
